Monument was unveiled to Brother Zeno in Fujireyen

On November 20 th, 1979 , a monument was unveiled to Brother Zeno in Fujireyen at the base of famous Fujirein. The huge monument was a joint venture of a Polish architect Adolf Ryszka and Japanese artist Mr Togashi Hajime.

This monument is often visited by the faithful Japanese people. Each year, on the field next to the monument, on April 24 th , a solemn Mass is celebrated on Brother Zeno’s twofold anniversary, his arrival to Japan and his eternal rest. This Mass is celebrated by the Japanese Franciscan Fathers and the local clergy. The special field Mass is attended by religious brothers and sisters and by many pilgrims from Tokyo and different parts of Japan.
